BILTMORE HOUSE

Stan Hywet Hall is 64,500 square feet with 65 rooms. Whitemarsh Hall and Mar-a-lago are each over 100,000 square feet, with about 150 each!  But this is Vanderbuilt's "Biltmore House", the largest private home ever built in the U.S.  It has 250 rooms, totalling over 175,000 square feet!  That's more than 4 acres of floor space!   It has 65 fireplaces!  Here's the first two floors.  The third floor and attic contain lots of servant and storage rooms, and the basement has a swimming pool, bowling alley, the main kitchen, scullery, laundry, and lots of other workshops and service rooms.
